Speaker 3

Bismarck J. Rewane is the Managing Director/CEO of Financial Derivatives Company Limited in Lagos, Nigeria, a Macro-economic Research and Financial Advisory Firm.With more than thirty years experience as an Economist, Banker & Financial Analyst, Mr. Rewane is a renowned and acclaimed commentator on contemporary political   and economic issues.Rewane has worked with both the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and International Monetary Fund (IMF); in the design and implementation of deregulated foreign currency auction market. He is currently on the board of First City Group, Guinness Nigeria PLC, Modant Marine Nigeria LTD, Top Feeds Nigeria Ltd, First City Monument Bank PLC, amongst many others. He served on various committees such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Committee on The Review of Capital Structures and Processes, but most recently on the Presidential Steering Committee on Global Financial and Economic Crisis.BJ Rewane is also a part time facilitator of the Macro-economic programme at the Lagos Business School, Executive Breakfast Session.

Yewande Sadiku has worked for Stanbic IBTC for over 20 years. She is currently Head of Corporate and Investment Banking following previous positions held in investment banking, including Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Capital Limited. In her investment banking role, Yewande was involved in assignments for clients in virtually every sector of the Nigerian economy and has structured several landmark transactions, including some of the largest capital raisings in the history of the Nigerian capital market. She was one of “35 International Women Under 35” featured in the October 2007 edition of World Business Magazine. She was also awarded the Eisenhower Fellowship for International Leadership in May 2010. In her spare time, Yewande has an interest in bringing formal financing to the Nigerian film industry and produced a full feature film – “Half of a Yellow Sun”.

Folabi Esan is a founding Partner of Adlevo Capital the first private equity firm to specialize in growth-stage investments in technology companies in sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to this, he was the pioneer Managing Director of SAP Nigeria and Regional Manager for SAP West Africa and held other positions in several illustrious firms including Bain and Company and Andersen Consulting. Mr. Esan is an avid entrepreneur and has successfully run two companies –Techno-Diffusion (an idea incubator) and Heureka Consulting (a provider of technology marketing services). In addition, he is also the current president of the Nigerian-German Business Association (NGBA) and of the Stanford Alumni Club of Nigeria. Mr. Esan has a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, a Masters in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford University and a Masters in innovation Systems and Technology Policy from the University of London.

Mobola Onibonoje is an experienced private equity professional, having spent close to a decade with Alitheia Capital, building a portfolio of impact funds and nurturing high potential businesses. Alitheia Capital is an investment and advisory firm focused on channeling private equity investments into small and growing businesses. Mobola’s career spans private equity, management consulting and financial advisory in  West and Southern Africa, and the United States. Mobola has been active in the development of the investing ecosystem in Nigeria though her involvement in  the Lagos Angel Network, the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (West Africa Chapter) and the  Entrepreneurs Ecosystem. Previously, she managed a $4  million   Energy  and Environmental portfolio for the United   Nations Development Program in Botswana. She was also a Senior Strategy Consultant at Accenture (Nigeria) advising large financial institutions on strategy and organizational development. She has also held financial advisory/management roles at Howard Frazier Barker Elliott and Nextel Communications, both   in the USA.

Mezuo Nwuneli founded and leads Sahel Capital, which runs a target $100-million agriculture-focused investment fund, sponsored by the German and Nigerian governments, aimed at small- and medium-sized (SME) agricultural producers in Nigeria. He also provides an array of consulting services to local and international clients on crop value chain analysis, SME development, market entry strategies, and agribusiness and trade policy, with his work spanning all of West Africa. In addition, Sahel Capital established a Greenfield agro-processing company in 2010, AACE Foods, which processes and packages a range of spices, seasonings, and complementary food products. Mezuo spent his fellowship studying agribusiness-focused private equity investing, learning about agricultural finance related investment instruments, strengthening ties between U.S. agricultural commodity traders and Nigeria, and exploring technology to minimize post-harvest loss. He was also interested in best practices for food standards and safety. His goal is to increase his capacity to tailor financing to small and medium agribusinesses and farmers, who are most in need of capital.

Bukky George is the Founder & CEO of HealthPlus Limited, Nigeria’s first Integrative Pharmacy, the fastest growing pharmacy chain in West Africa, committed to its mission of helping people achieve Optimum Health and Vitality. HealthPlus is the recipient of the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Award for Retail Pharmacy of the Year 2014 & 2015. Over the past 17 years, the business has grown to 67 branches with over 735 associates. The Company has a strategy to expand Pan-Nigeria. Bukky has over 24 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She is a registered Pharmacist with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, the General Pharmaceutical Council UK and a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. She holds an MBA and is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School. She is currently enrolled in the Owner President Management (OPM) Program at the Harvard Business School.


Speaker 11

Danladi Verheijen  is the CEO/MD of Verod Capital Management, a leading private equity firm in Nigeria. Before co-founding Verod, Danladi was a Vice President at Citibank Nigeria where he led corporate finance and investment banking transactions and also had responsibility over Citibank’s equity investment portfolio. Prior to that, he held roles at Ocean and Oil Holdings and at McKinsey & Company.  He is a director of several companies including, GZ Industries, SacOil Holdings, Rotoprint, Shaldag, and Niyya Food and Drinks. Danladi received an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.Sc. in Engineering Economic Systems & Operations Research from Stanford University and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Calvin College. Danladi was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2014 and listed as one of the top 20 rising stars in African Finance by Euromoney in 2014.
