I first got in contact with LEAP Africa in 2011 when I participated in The Values, Leadership and Skills Programme (VLSP) held in Ogba, Lagos. In my quest to learn more, I volunteered with LEAP immediately after the programme. My brief stint at the organisation exposed me to the world of unending possibilities and the belief that the best way to lead is by serving the needs of others.
During the course of the program, I learnt the importance of good moral values and the need to always put integrity first. I also discovered that offering value will always earn you a reward. The encounter shaped my life and contributed to what I am today.
Due to the impact of the “VLSP”, in 2013, my proposal was selected out of 72 other applicants from Anglo-Phone West Africa to execute a radio program – “Common Enemy” funded by Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). With an active audience of 20,000 listeners (weekly), the radio program increased transparency and accountability in government institutions and increased collaboration between young people and anti-graft agencies.
Today, in addition to my present job at CBN South-South EDC, I serve as the founder & editor of FundingDesk – www.fundingdesk.org – an online platform that links budding entrepreneurs, start-ups and existing enterprises with access to finance. My mission with FundingDesk, is simple; anyone with a unique and viable business idea should be able to seize their own success and change the world. I equally co-founded Redwood Leadership Initiative www.redwoodleadership.org – where I presently serve as the Lead Partner.
Thanks to LEAP Africa, today I am a firm believer in democracy and good governance, accountability and transparency in government institutions and a Fellow of UNDP and Transparency International “Youth Integrity Fellowship”.
